Megan and I flew to Oregon for 5 days, first time either of us have been . We started in Portland the went on a bit of a road trip over the 5 days. Portland>Astoria>Cape Disappointment>Cannon Beach>Tillamook>Stevenson>Multnomah Falls>Mt Hood>Portland
We stopped by VooDoo Doughnuts before we road tripped it, some of the tastiest doughnuts I've ever had, the fat kid in me wanted to buy 1 of each but I was limited to 6 since Megan and I were splitting the dozen, lol
For the weekend we took close to 2000 pictures, I put up a few different galleries' below for everyone to check out
A good old friend from HS came down for the day from Seattle area, was good to see him and catch up. Havent seen him in several years.
When we left Portland on day 2 we went to Astoria and got lunch and walked around to check out the sights, from there we dove across the bridge to Cape Disappointment and walked around the lighthouse, there was enough fog that we had a hard time seeing the ocean from there, had a little rain throughout the day but lots of green trees and beautiful scenery. We stopped by the house where they filmed the Goonies to check it out before heading down the coast to Cannon Beach.
The 2nd night we stayed in Cannon Beach, Megan found a great hotel on the beach, our patio looked out over the ocean and Haystack Rock. The day we got there it was still pretty foggy but luckily no rain, we walked along the beach and hung out on the patio listening to the waves come in, the next morning we went back down to the beach just in time for low tide and got to walk near the rock and see a bunch of starfish, water was pretty cold so i didnt stay barefoot for long in the water. lol
After Cannon Beach we drove to the east of Portland and stayed the night in Stevenson just across the river, had dinner at a local brewery and then the next morning we drove over to Multnomah Falls, we hiked over halfway to the top and got some great pictures, after our hike we had lunch and then drove over to Mt Hood.
We didn't get as close to the mountain as I was hoping to but I also never realized how big the mountain is until you try to drive to it, we got some pretty good shots from the base and the temperature dropped into the low 40s even without us being all the way up to it, there was snow on the ground which was interesting to see since its May, definitely don't see that in Arizona
On our last day we decided to go get lunch and walk down the river and check out a few sights then went over to the Chinese Gardens near downtown, neat little place for being right in the middle of the city.
