So this weekend we went camping up on the Rim. Chris and I went up early Friday morning to make sure we got the camp site we wanted, Jake came up Saturday after his Birthday with his family. The trail was a bit hard to get back to the cliffs but luckily the Tahoe had enough clearance to make it back there.
Where we setup camp we were less than 100 yards on 3 sides of us that make some awesome views. There was enough trees to give us shade through out the day. At night however being that close to the cliffs did cause some serious winds that at one point I thought was going to blow away my tent. I didn't properly secure the tent to the ground, once I saw how much the wind was pushing around the tent Chris and I moved quickly to secure the rest of it from moving. When Jake showed up Saturnday we made sure his was staked down properly so he didn't run into the same problems.
Saturday I woke up before dawn and got some great shots while the sun was coming over the hills, it was so peaceful to just sit on the edge of the cliff and watch the sun come over the valley below. I enjoyed the view and area, though with the winds at night I dont know if I will want to camp here again but it is a great day trip place to hang out.
