Megan and I left early on Thursday and drove to Huntington Beach. We hung out for a few hours. It was nice to check out the view and get some sun, unfortunately I got a bit more sun than I should have and left with a nice burn (one of these days I'll learn to put sunblock on) After the beach and wearing Ryker out a bit we went to Ryan and Noelle's place to hang out for the night and let the kids get used to the dog. beautiful neighborhood and great place for them and the kids, it was great to just out and catch up.
Friday we made our way to Big Bear after a short stop at Garrido's to get everyone together and caravan up together. It was good that the dogs got along great and were able to be around each other all weekend.
Saturday we did a fishing charter, our driver Adam was great with everyone and had a pretty good sense of humor, he even convinced Megan that a part of the fish was poisonous (hilarious to see her reaction). It was a lot of fun to see the kids catch a few fish for the first time in their lives and were willing to pick up the fish and hold them. overall was a great day, Noelle did a good job cooking up the fish that we caught, 10 fish caught in total, 4 keepers that we got to take home and cook, slightly overcast and a nice cool breeze. Definitely felt great to get out of AZ.
It was a great weekend to see some of my closest friends and be able to rent a place big enough for us all. We were close to the lake and had a good size yard to let the dogs and kids play. There was a nice game room which was awesome to let the kids play some games and keep them entertained, even fun for the adults to get into some games though Rock Band and Cards Against Humanity were the best games for the adults once the kids went to bed. It was great to be able to hang out with the guys again and was good to be able to do it with the women and kids this time around, hopefully the first of many trips we will all be able to get together.
